Perimeter Fences

When you think of a fence, what type of fence do you think of first? Picket fences may first come to mind, and other people may think of the 8-foot wooden fence they have around their backyard. There are many different types of perimeter fences and when you install a perimeter fence, you can keep what you want inside, and what you don’t want in, out. Here is a look at some common types of perimeter fences.

Security perimeter fences: Many high security areas have perimeter fences installed around their property. Sometimes these are like what you would see at an FAA airport perimeter fence. These are usually high and are sometimes wired with electric wires. You usually won’t see these types of perimeter fences at residential homes. These can be dangerous to people and to wildlife. Many of these come equipped with fence perimeter alarms.

Dog fence perimeter: When you have dogs on your property, a dog fence is a must. You want to make sure your dog does not wander and you certainly want to make sure that strange pets do not wander on your own property. If you have a dog, you will want to install some sort of dog fence. Many people like the invisible pet fences that are widely available. The costs of electronic perimeter fences for dogs vary depending on the size of your property and the brand you buy. You can contact a professional installer in your area, or you can check online for exact prices. If you are not interested in an invisible fence, then you may want to consider other types of perimeter fences. Look for a fence that is high enough so that your dog cannot jump over and one that will be difficult for your dog to dig and crawl under. If you have a large dog, then a tall wooden fence may be the right choice for you. If you have a very small dog, then you will not need such a high fence.

Wrought iron and brick perimeter fence: These types of fences are quite decorative and are popular in many residential areas. Wrought iron fences are perfect for installing around your pool or other areas. Many people who have swimming pools have a wrought iron fence installed to keep children safe. It should be tall enough so that children cannot climb over any slats should be close enough together so that children cannot squeeze through. Brick perimeter fences are also quite popular. You can get a brick fence to match the brick on your home, and it can be built to any height.
